There are three main reasons why people sell income streams:

Access – People need or want access to their cash, either due to a serious need or they simply have some desire to make a purchase

Interest or Yield – People will sell their income streams because they know that with money in their hands, they can start earning interest which can result in a larger amount of money

Inflation – Money loses it's “purchasing power” over time. Simple economics, A dollar is worth more today than in five, ten or twenty years from now.
